Welcome to December!

We are so proud of the work happening at Tecumseh Public Schools. We continue to work with our parents and the community to improve our customizing structures throughout the district. Here are a few highlights of our work over the past month:

Our Stakeholder Strategic Design Goal Committee met this past month to identify local businesses in the greater Tecumseh Area who are interested and able to support our work in career exploration in grades K-12. There are so many businesses and organizations who want to support our learners to offer opportunities to learn about potential careers. As a district we are working collaboratively with partners to develop a system for this to happen for each and every learner!

Our Middle College learners continue to work through the credentialing process. Freshman and Sophomore students who are part of the Jackson College program have spent time learning skills that will prepare them for postsecondary success and for life. We are so excited to be able to offer this opportunity for our TPS learners.

Our STEAM Center Parent Advisory Group has meet a few times to support our transformational work at East and West STEAM Centers. Ideas on programming and communication are discussed with the group. We have and continue to implement ideas that are developed through this advisory group. We are thrilled to have such wonderful parent partnerships in our district.

Enjoy this holiday season with your family and friends. We at Tecumseh Public Schools wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Community Learning Connections Milk Drive at Tecumseh Compass

The Fuel up to Play 60 committee has decided to do a "Milk Drive" this December to benefit Community Learning Connections Friday Food Pack program.

The program currently hands out more than 100 food packs each
Friday to Tecumseh Public school children. The committee thought it was important for these kids to receive milk in their packs.

The "Milk Drive" will take place at Compass Learning Center the week of Dec 11-15th. Learners can bring in monetary donations ($1 and up) to donate during their lunch. They will sign an "I donated milk bottle" to be displayed at the school. They will also receive an entry in a drawing for each dollar donated for United Dairy Council prizes. Parents and community members may also donate monetarily or in the form of shelf stable milk (such as Horizon and Nesquik).

Feel free to contact Tracy Hedrick with questions or to donate!
Tecumseh East is taking over our Twitter!

On December 8th a Tecumseh East learner, Kylie, will be given control of our TPS Twitter account (@tecumsehschools). Kylie will be tweeting about her day, experience with teachers, and fun times she has with her friends!

Make sure you follow #TESCtakeover to not miss a moment!
